Keep Your Pipeline Full — Even When People Leave
Here's the Truth Most Entrepreneurs Don't Want to Hear
I had the privilege of working with Director Carmen Ray and her community of entrepreneurs inside the 4040 Coaching Program.
Her members are purpose-driven, experienced, and passionate about helping other people achieve success—but like many coaches and consultants, they were facing a familiar roadblock:
Here’s what I told them:
People will leave. But that doesn’t have to hurt your business—if your pipeline stays full.
Let’s break that down.
💔 People Will Leave. That’s Normal.
No matter how great your offer is, people will:
• Outgrow your service
• Have financial shifts
• Get distracted
• Drop off quietly
This is natural attrition, and it happens in every business model—especially membership programs and network marketing teams.
What makes it harmful is when you don’t have a system in place to bring in new, qualified leads consistently to replace the ones who are leaving.
That’s the real danger: no pipeline.

Most solopreneurs focus on creating offers and delivering value (which is important), but they don’t have a repeatable system to attract, nurture, and convert new leads consistently.
So we talked about positioning for profits by building what I call the recycling funnel—a system that not only brings in new prospects but also re-engages people who previously dropped out or canceled their membership.
🔁 Lead Generation Is the Insurance Policy
When I work with clients in The First $100K program, I don’t just teach how to sell their offers—I show them how to position their business for sustainable profit.
And that starts with a lead generation strategy.
In my presentation to Carmen’s 4040 community, I shared the concept of the “recycling funnel”—a system where you’re not only capturing new leads, but also re-engaging people who didn’t buy the first time.
It’s a system that runs even while you sleep—bringing new energy, curiosity, and opportunity into your business every week.
🧲 10 Ways to Support Lead Generation
You don’t need a big team or a huge ad budget to start generating leads. Here are 10 practical ways you can do it right now:
1. Offer a lead magnet – A checklist, guide, or quiz that solves a small, specific problem.
2. Host a live session or workshop – Teach something useful and invite people to work with you.
3. Use clear CTAs in your content – Tell people what to do next after they read, watch, or listen.
4. Start conversations in the DMs – Be human. Ask questions. Offer insight.
5. Send consistent emails – Nurture your audience with value, stories, and insights.
6. Create a referral system – Reward people who send others your way.
7. Partner with peers – Co-host events or cross-promote with people serving the same audience.
8. Run retargeting ads – Re-engage website visitors or social followers.
9. Build a simple funnel – Use a landing page + thank you page + email sequence.
10. Follow up with old leads – Sometimes a “no” is really just a “not now.”

If you’ve been stuck thinking you just need more eyes on your business, pause right there.
You don’t just need visibility.
You need intentionality.
